Recently, there has ügen friction between the Kent Gay Liberation Front and the Kant Stater. the university student newspaper. Throughout the fall and the beginning of winter quarter KGLF was excluded from coverage in the paper. Meetings and dances were not announced in advance, and when important guests such as Lawyer Thelma Furry (one of the lew women to have practiced before the supreme court) spoke to the group, it was not deemed worthy of coverage in the Stater. Also, none of the
several letters to the editor by gay students were published. These actions resulted in a protest leafletting by KGLF members. This was followed by a Stater harassment of demanding to see KGLF's books (which are on public record through university channels). No reason was given for KGLF being singled out for investigation.

O You whom I often and silently come where you are that I may be with you.
As walk by your side or sit near, or remain in the same rcom with you,
Little you know the subtie electric fire for your sake is playing within me.
Another explains his poetic inspiration:
Sometimes with one I love ! fill myself with rage for fear I effuse unreturn'd love. But now I think there is no unreturn'd love. the pay is certain one way or another,
(I loved a certain person ardently and my love was not return'd, Yet ouf of that I have written these songs.)
